Home is where the heart is and the Bronx is home for Troy. The Bronx is the birthplace of Hip-Hop and is rich in culture that gave the world breakdancing. Throughout the district, there are numerous public spaces and abandoned walls defected with old graffiti. These deteriorated walls and tags take away from the character of the diverse and vibrant neighborhoods that make up District 15. To restore that vibrancy, it is imperative for the city to invest in public artworks and fund beautification projects in underserved neighborhoods.
Benefits include commissioning local artists, restoring neighborhood character, beautification of abandoned graffiti walls, driving attention to small businesses and BID’s, and boost post-covid tourism.
